2024 Temora Open (August 10 & 11)

For a great weekend of golf and entertainment the Temora Open is for you. This is a medley tournament with an Ambrose on Saturday and an individual event on Sunday. Saturday night there is a dinner with a guest speaker and music to follow. It is held every year in August. For information please contact the Temora Golf Club.

2024 Temora Open Programme

Special guest: author, commentator, poet and Australia’s first ever Sudoku team captain - Mick Colliss.

Mick Colliss is a gifted story teller with a very funny story to tell and is widely regarded as one of Australia's best keynote speakers.

As a young kid growing up, his dream was to play for Australia. But he quickly discovered desire was no substitute for ability. Finally, at the age of 42, after successive failures at cricket, rugby league, rugby union, surf lifesaving and lawn bowls, he discovers the game of sudoku.

He can’t play that either.

But it doesn’t stop him picking himself and three mates from his rugby club in the first ever Australian Sudoku team and traveling to India to compete for his country at the World Sudoku Championships.

Mick’s is a laugh out loud true story about mateship, having a go and never giving up, no matter what the odds. With built in messages about finding alternate ways to reach your goals, not fearing failure and thinking outside the box, it's not only highly entertaining, it's ideal for conferences and corporate events, as well as sports and school functions.

Qualification

Competitors must hold a current AGU Handicap.

Tee times

Saturday’s 2 person Ambrose will commence at 10:00am for a 10:30am shotgun start.

Sunday’s single stroke/stableford - Tee times from 8.00am. Contact Duncan McCrone on 0412 749 689 or email duncan@mgsaccounting.com.au to book a time.

Handicaps

It is the players responsibility to know their exact handicap and adjusted daily handicap. The full 10 digit Golflink number is required on the score-card for visiting players each day.

Maximum handicap Men - 36, Women - 45

Trophies

Saturday’s Medley Ambrose prizes will consist of scratch winners and R-up and handicap winners, R-up and 3rd place, mixed winner and R-up and Money Ball.

Sunday’s Medley Single Stroke Stableford Event will offer men’s scratch (stroke) and handicap (stableford) winners and R-up for A and B Grades. Women's prizes will be for both scratch and handicap winners and R-up.

Also prizes for NTP and Long Drives each day, as well as the Paul Leary Memorial Putting trophy on Sunday.

GOLF CARTS ARE EXTREMELY LIMITED AT THE CLUB. WE ENCOURAGE PLAYERS TO BRING THEIR OWN CART OR REQUEST CARTS EARLY IN ENTRY FORM NOTES
